OBJECTIVE
Reason for Offering the Training only to Girls
We identified that Majority of the girls stop their education of primary level but, girls who complete school education 12th look for employment. Since the affected families have lost their primary source of livelihood the girls will be the worst sufferer now and in future. In such circumstances the proposed training programme will assure the girls quick employment. Another reason for preferring girls is that for all proposed vocational skills, girls are preferred by the employers.
Project Objectives
To provide information about Nursing Lab, X-ray courses to the girls from the affected and deprived communities. To impart employable skills in the medical field among the Tsunami affected and deprived girls who would otherwise remain unemployed to open up an alternative employment opportunity to the girls from the Tsunami affected and deprived communities.
To establish a steady source of income and future career to the girls whose families are in livelihood crisis.
Environment Awareness Programme
Environment awareness programmes was conducted in 18 coastal villages "Healthy life will make you Wealthy" is the slogan we teach to the people in the villages. Clean drinking water, keeping the body neat and clean. Using toilet are the important sanitation tips given to the people to have a healthy life.
Help to Poor Paramedical Student
Every year we select very poor students from out villages and help them for their education. We also support intelligent students by giving awards and prizes. Uniforms are also given to poor students. During this year we supported 10 students.
Youth Clubs
Youth clubs were organized-& formed at Muttom, Kadiapattanam, Azhikal, Kurumpanai, Chinnavilai, Kottilpadu, Kodimunai and- Vaniyakudy. Each youth club functions with their own leadership and freedom. The members of the club study the needs of their village and they ways and means to fulfill these needs with the locally available resources. The unemployed youth conduct adult and non formal educational programme in the village.
About the applying Organization
On health side we do free laboratory treatment (i.e.) Urine test, Blood Test, Motion Test, VDRL Test, AIDS Test, Malaria Diagnosis, Plague Test etc., for the people of surrounding villages. Those who have chronic diseases are identified by our health animators and brought in our notice. We take keen interest in their health by undertaking the above said tests and diagnose the actual disease and give reports.
